Kyle Busch

If there was anyone to personify the word ‘consistency’ in the present era of NASCAR, it would be Kyle Busch. When he first came into the Cup Series, Busch was arguably a brash and aggressive driver. He did not shy away from saying or doing what he felt like and that earned him the ‘Rowdy’ nickname. You can love it or hate it but his approach to racing led him to win 2 Cup Series championships. Now, he has toned down a lot but despite being one of the older drivers, the hunger is still very much alive. He currently drives the #8 car for Richard Childress Racing.

Kyle Busch Net Worth 2024 (Update)

Throughout his career, Kyle Busch has earned several accolades. Winning championships and races come to him naturally. When one keeps on winning, they get richer and it’s safe to say that Rowdy is one of the wealthiest drivers in NASCAR today. According to several sources, the 2-time Cup Series champion has an estimated net worth of a whopping $80 million. As per zacjohnson.com, Busch makes roughly $16-19 million annually.

Being one of the most popular NASCAR drivers today, Rowdy has no trouble pulling sponsors. The former Cup Series champion recently extended deals with Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and Lucas Oil. His current list of partners also include Lenovo, 3CHI, Alsco, Bet MGM, and more. Apart from racing, these partnerships are a big part of Rowdy’s earnings. Him being a team owner for quite a long time also contributes to that.

Kyle Busch’s wife and family

Rowdy was born on May 2, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Tom and Gaye Busch. His first motor racing experience came at the age of six with go-karts. Reports suggest that Kyle Busch was not tall enough to reach the throttle in his first race around the street near his home. His father controlled the pedal while Rowdy drove as per reports. Busch also worked in his family’s garage and worked as a crew chief for his brother (and former Cup Series champion as well) Kurt at the age of 10 in dwarf car racing.

Rowdy has been in a long and successful marriage to Samantha for 14 years now. The couple got married on December 31, 2010. The couple met in 2007 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. At the time, Samantha was a student at Purdue University and apparently, Kyle was too shy to ask her out first time. Well, good that he mustered up the courage to eventually do so otherwise we would’ve been robbed of one of the most wholesome NASCAR couples.

Kyle and Samantha have two kids, Brexton Locke Busch and Lennix Key Busch. Brexton is the older of the two and is following his father’s footsteps. In fact, he seems to have gotten Rowdy’s talents as he has already made a big impact in the junior racing community. The couple love their kids to death but they faced a lot of issues while conceiving, especially with Lennix.

In 2018, Kyle and Samantha were supposed to welcome their second child to the world. At the time Brexton was just over 3 years old. However, their dreams were shattered and on November 30 of that year, Samantha shared the news of suffering a miscarriage.

The couple had been struggling with infertility for the longest time and had turned to IVF to conceive. When it did not work out in 2018, they decided that a surrogate would be a better option. So, in 2022, when Lennix Key Busch was born, they were absolutely overjoyed.

Kyle Busch Titles or Achievements (Update)

Kyle Busch has won several honors in his career and it would take anyone far too long to list all of them. So here are some of his most notable ones. Rowdy is a 2-time Cup Series champion and a 1-time Xfinity Series champion. He has won the Brickyard 400 twice, the Southern 500 once, the Coca-Cola 600 once, and the All-Star race once.

The NASCAR legend has made his mark in other competitions as well, winning the Snowball Derby on two different occasions. He also holds the record for the most wins by a driver in the Xfinity and Truck Series.

Kyle Busch Business Ventures and Investments

Apart from being a motorsports athlete, Kyle Busch is an entrepreneur. There are several ventures that he has started or partnered with so far in his life, one of them being Rowdy Nation. Fans can get an official Kyle Busch fan membership and exclusive merchandise from the platform.

He also got a return on his investment through one of his properties in 2023. Rowdy sold his North Carolina house. The home was 15,000 sq feet and was built on 1.4 acres of land near Lake Norman, with a side of the house facing the water body. It was listed for $13 Million and the real estate agent was Heather Gibbs, daughter-in-law of NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs.

Charity and Foundation

Kyle Busch, along with his wife, chairs The Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy fund. According to its official website, “The Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund is dedicated to advocating for infertility education and awareness and removing financial barriers by granting monetary awards to couples who require fertility treatments to have their own bundle of joy.”

The statistics on the charity’s website suggest that they have awarded 116 grants and generated $1,509,880. They have also facilitated the birth of 83 babies so far. It’s safe to say that the couple did not want anyone to suffer as much as they did in order to conceive and have helped several families as a result.

Kyle Busch Motorsports

Kyle Busch dabbled into the ownership line in NASCAR not too long after making his debut in the Cup Series. Kyle Busch Motorsports was founded in the year 2010 and they have been quite successful in the NASCAR Truck Series with two championships. The team had also won the ARCA East Series. KBM has been a venture that was close to Rowdy’s heart but he took the tough decision to sell it in 2023, with Spire Motorsports being the buyer. Although the fee for the sale was not immediately made public, Charlotte Business Journal reported it to be close to $14.5 million.

Kyle Busch and Alex Bowman rivalry

It’s safe to say that Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch are not the best of friends. They have not always raced each other very clean and after one race, Rowdy lost his cool with the Hendrick Motorsports driver. It was the 2022 race in Las Vegas, and Busch was in prime position to win the Cup Series race. However, a late crash involving Erik Jones and Bubba Wallace brought out the caution with less than 2 laps to go.

As a result, Alex Bowman was able to get on fresh tires and snatch the win away from the then-Joe Gibbs Racing driver. On the team radio after the race, Rowdy expressed his feelings towards Bowman and it was not pretty. “Same f****** guy who backs into every f****** win that he ever f****** gets, backs into another f****** win,” he said.

Kyle Busch and Joey Logano rivalry

Another driver that Kyle Busch might not have too great of a relationship with is Joey Logano. The two drivers are infamous for causing a bloody fistfight in Las Vegas in 2017. As the race progressed, Logano was racing quite hard and while in close quarters with Rowdy, he turned the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing car. What ensued on the pit road after this was chaos.

Rowdy confronted Logano and threw a vicious punch that seemed to somewhat catch the driver of the #22. The two drivers were then surrounded by people trying to separate them as they fought each other. In the end, Busch seemed to come off it worse with a cut on his forehead. It was one of the few times Busch went full 'rowdy'.

Kyle Busch Controversies

Rowdy got himself into trouble with the Mexican authorities in January of 2023 as he breached the country’s gun laws. According to the Associated Press, Kyle Busch was detained at a Mexican airport after authorities discovered a handgun and ammunition in his luggage. Initially, he was sentenced to prison for 3-and-a-half years and was ordered to pay a fine of $1,000. However, he was allowed to leave Mexico after paying a bond.

He got into trouble with the authorities in 2011 at home. Busch was cited for speeding 128 mph in a 45 mph speed limit zone. The incident took place near Troutman, North Carolina, on May 24.

Kyle Busch and M&M'S

One of Rowdy’s oldest sponsors was M&M'S. Busch was with the company for 15 years before they decided to drop him. This led Rowdy to switch teams and move from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing in 2023. However, with the M&M on his car’s hood, Busch has seen some of the best moments of his career, including his 2 Cup wins and countless race victories.
